Farmington Issues Parking Ban As Major Snowstorm Hits: UPDATE

The Town of Farmington is bracing for a major winter storm that is threatening much of New England Sunday into Monday.

FARMINGTON, CT — The Town of Farmington has issued a townwide parking ban from 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, through 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, as a winter storm is expected to impact the area.

During the ban, no vehicles may be parked on public streets. Parking is also prohibited in town buildings and school parking lots, officials said.

Vehicles left on roadways during the ban may be ticketed or towed to allow crews to safely and efficiently treat and clear streets.

Town officials are encouraging residents to sign up for Everbridge emergency alert notifications to receive updates on parking bans, road closures, and other storm-related information.

As a result of the winter storm:
• Town Offices will be closed on Monday, February 23, 2026
• The Town Plan and Zoning Meeting scheduled for Monday February 23rd has been cancelled
• Trash & recycling pick up will be delayed by one day
• A Parking Ban has been issued from 6:00 PM on Sunday February 22nd through 6:00 PM on Monday February 23rd
