Farmington Jackson Labs Dr. Charles Lee Passed Over for Nobel Prize

Lee was considered a top contender for the prize in the Physiology or Medicine category.

Dr. Charles Lee of the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine was passed over for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine Monday.

The award was given to John O’Keefe along with May-Britt Moser and Edvard Moser for discoveries on cells that constitute a positioning system in the brain, according to a Nobel press release.

Lee had been named a top contender for the prize by Thomson Reuters in September for his work regarding large-scale copy number variation and its association with specific diseases.
