Farmington Libraries Announce New Trustee

FARMINGTON, CT — The Board of Trustees of the Farmington Libraries Monday announced the addition of Dana Pescatello to the Library Board as its newest Trustee.

Library Board Chair Jorie Andrews welcomed Pescatello to the board on March 16. Pescatello will serve a three-year term and will be a member of the Technology Committee.

Andrews said, "We are thrilled to welcome Dana Pescatello to the Board of the Farmington Libraries. Dana’s teaching experience and interest in technology will strengthen the Board and provide creative ideas for additional services for Farmington residents."

Pescatello is a retired English teacher who has taught at Henry James Memorial School and Simsbury High
School. In 2019, she was trained at Columbia University’s Teachers College and is certified to teach
the reading and writing workshop model with a concentration in book clubs for students. In addition,
Dana has had extensive experience incorporating technology into her teaching practice to facilitate
online and hybrid learning during 2019-2021.

She has served on faculty committees including the Diversity and Climate Committee and Homework
Committee, as well as served as a member on the Board of Trustees of the Hill-Stead Museum,
Farmington Garden Club and Connecticut Valley Garden Club. Dana has experience co-chairing
events such as the May Market, and the Auction/Monet in Monet at the Hill-Stead Museum, as well as
fundraising for the Farmington High School Friends of Music.

She has also worked as an editor and has experience as a grant writer and graduated with honors in
English from Cornell University. She also earned an M.A in Literature from the University of Virginia
with a concentration in American Literature. She is an avid reader and actively participates in a monthly
book group. Dana has lived in Farmington with her husband and three children for 20 years.
