Farmington Libraries To End Passport Acceptance Program

The U.S. Department of State removed all 501(c)(3) Nonprofits from its Passport Acceptance Facility Program, affecting local services.

FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington Libraries have announced they are no longer authorized to accept and process passports.

This change becomes effective on Friday, Feb. 13. The decision follows a directive from the U.S. Department of State.

As a result, the Farmington Libraries cannot schedule new appointments for passport processing.

Despite this change, Farmington Libraries will continue to provide passport photo services.

These services are available by appointment at a cost of $17 per person.

The Farmington Library is located at 6 Monteith Drive, while the system's Barney Library is at 71 Main St., Farmington.

Patrons seeking passport forms can still obtain them at the library while supplies last.
