Farmington Obituary: Antonia Maiorano, 58

Antonia Maiorano, 58, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Guardia Lombardi, Italy, the daughter of the late Angelo and Agnesa Maiorano. Antonia was a beautiful person who would light up a room. She always had a big smile and an enthusiastic hello for everyone she met. She loved children and animals, especially her dog, Rudy. Antonia enjoyed bowling, volunteering at Gifts of Love, old movies, library time, and shopping, to name a few. Her greatest pleasure though was time spent with family and her friends at the LEO program. Her family is grateful for the loving care she received during her two years at her home away from home at Two Mile. Toni, as she was affectionately called by her Two Mile family, cared for and loved them in return.

She leaves behind wonderful memories for her sister, Maria Glickman of Unionville, CT, brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Denise Maiorano of Somers, NY and brother, George Maiorano of Yonkers, NY. She also leaves two nieces, Amanda and Jennifer Glickman, her Aunt Maria DiMatteo and many loving cousins. Antonia is predeceased by her brother-in-law, Steven Glickman and Aunt Antonietta Gansziniec.

Her smile and enjoyment of life was infectious; you couldn’t help being drawn in. We will all miss her laughter, sense of humor, love and especially her beautiful smile.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Monday, November 23, from 6 – 8. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Tuesday, November 24 at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain.
