Farmington Obituary: Barbara Nawrocki

Barbara J. Nawrocki, of Farmington, beloved wife of the late Eugene V. Nawrocki, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 23rd, 2017.

Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Violet Grote. Prior to having a family, Barbara was a Keypunch Operator at London Lanchershire and later with Aetna Life Insurance. She was heavily involved in the operation of her husband’s business, Nawrocki Heating and Plumbing, where she handled many of the large commercial accounts.

She was a communicant at the Church of St. Patrick in Farmington. Barbara enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing and boating. She loved spending time at her home on Cape Cod and especially cooking the lobster catch and making clam chowder. Most of all, she loved being with her family.

Barbara is survived by her four children, Susan, Patricia, Jo-Ann and Terrie, two grandchildren and her brother Robert Grote and his wife Dorothy. She was predeceased by her sister, Marjorie Johnson.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Friday (July 28) from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Saturday (July 29) at 9:15am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Patrick, 110 Main St., Farmington at 10:00am. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Farmington.
