Farmington Obituary: Blanche Lord, 94

Condolences to her family and friends.

Blanche Fein Lord, 94 of Farmington, wife of the late Edward Lord, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Jack and Bella (Teplitsky) Fein. After marrying her first husband, Leonard Feldstein, in 1945, she raised her children in New York City and Westchester County, NY, then moved to Litchfield County.

Blanche was one of the first continuing education students at Sarah Lawrence College where she got her B.A. in Drama, then received her M.A. from Columbia Teacher’s College. She was employed in public relations by the former Chemical Bank, now Chase Bank for many years, retiring in 1997.

She married Edward Lord in 1997 and moved to the Farmington/Avon area where they lived for the past 21 years. An accomplished and talented woman, she spent time as a newspaper reporter and was a classically trained soprano. Starting at the age of 73, she wrote two novels, “Planet of Chaos, Planet of Life” and “Chasing Cobwebs”.

She leaves her son, Jonathan Eric Feldstein of Albuquerque, NM, her daughter Lori (Feldstein) Desrosiers of Westfield, MA, Lori’s husband Gary; two grandchildren: Margot Hernandez and (her husband David Shuford), Gabrielle Hernandez, and a great grandson, Alexandros Shuford. She was predeceased by her ex-husband Leonard Feldstein and two brothers, Albert and Solomon Fein.

Her family will have a Celebration of Life for family and friends in May. There are no calling hours.
