Farmington Obituary: Carol Schave, 77

Carol L. Schave, 77, of Farmington, beloved wife of Loren W. Schave, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 13th, 2016 at her home.

Born November 27th, 1938 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Alan and Katherine (McCourt) Sheridan. Carol began her teaching career in Mathematics, her love was Geometry, at Alfred Plant Junior High in West Hartford where she taught from 1962-1968. She later taught at Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford from 1978-2007.

Carol was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, a UConn Women’s basketball fan and enjoyed traveling to Sanibel Island, FL and Cape Cod. She was a Eucharistic Minister at the Church of St. Patrick in Farmington for many years and was a communicant at the Church of St. Mary in Unionville.

Besides her husband, Carol is survived by her three daughters, Kathy Schave and her husband Curt Griesing of Wallingford, Beth Schave-Bemis and her husband Steve of Canton, Lauren Ametrano and her husband Joseph of Guilford, seven grandchildren, Hilary Courduff and her husband Matt, Alyssa Griesing, Calvin, Rory and Tate Bemis, Sanford and Lucas Ametrano, her great-grandson, Graham Courduff, her brother, A. Craig Sheridan and his wife Lorraine of South Carolina, her sister-in-law, Lorraine Boulanger of Coronado, CA and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Monday (Apr. 18) from 4:00-7:00pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Tuesday (Apr. 19) at 9:15am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville at 10:00am. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Farmington.
