Farmington Obituary: Christopher Codrey, 73

Condolences to his family and friends.

Christopher O. Codrey, 73, beloved husband of Laraine (Rinaldini) Codrey, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Hartford Hospital.

Born on November 30, 1942, in Hartford to the late Alvah and Lydia (Penfold) Codrey, Chris graduated from Farmington High School and soon after enlisted in the United States Navy where he served in active duty for three years and then as a Seabee reservist, where he enjoyed managing the rifle range. He carried his interest in marksmanship into private life as a long-time member of the Ye Connecticut Gun Guild and the Bell City Rifle Club, a hobby he enjoyed sharing with close friend Howard Miller. When not occupied with family activities or at one of his clubs, he busied himself out in the garage sorting through and “organizing” his large and much treasured eclectic collection of fascinating items.

Chris was long-time owner and operator of Codrey and Douglass Plumbing. Daughter Phyllis remembers the many long-hard hours he worked pursuing his craft and, along with his wife Laraine, was delighted when he slowed down enough to enjoy well-earned yearly respites wintering in Florida.
