Claire (Lazarski) Murphy, 92, of Farmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday (April 2, 2016) at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. She was guided by Our Heavenly Father into the loving arms of her husband of 69 ½ years, Richard, who passed away November 23, 2015.
A New Britain native and resident most of her life, she recently moved to Farmington. Claire graduated from New Britain High School and was employed at the Fafnir Bearing Company in New Britain and then the New Britain National Bank for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Maurice Church in New Britain; the New Britain National Girls Club and the Fafnir Bearing Seniors.
Claire treasured spending quality time with her family and enjoyed taking pictures and home movies, all of which we continue to cherish to this day. Her family will miss her endless devotion to those she loved, warm smile, and great sense of humor. Claire was a wonderful cook whose Sunday morning breakfasts will never be forgotten. She was also a remarkable seamstress, and a master of crossword puzzles. In addition, she enjoyed game shows, politics and watching the New York Yankees. Even though she was not able do as much in her later years, Claire's willingness to help those close to her never diminished.
