Farmington Obituary: Diane Maynard, 68

Condolences to her family and friends.

Diane E. (Peterson) Maynard, 68, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Richard C. Maynard Sr., died peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Manchester Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 14, 1948, in Hartford, daughter of the late Carl E. and Ruth Gretchen (Hahn) Peterson. Diane grew up in Wethersfield and was a graduate of Wethersfield High School. A resident of East Hartford for nearly 10 years, she also lived in Farmington and Windsor.

Diane was a kind and compassionate woman who always put others first. She was a volunteer for many years at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Previously, she was employed by the Bushnell in Hartford and the Town of Farmington. Diane loved animals, chocolate, UConn Huskies basketball, and musical theater. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.

She leaves her children, Richard C. Maynard Jr. and his husband Adrian Butler of East Hartford, Debra Brown and her husband Paul of Ponte Vedra, FL, and Michelle Carlson of Lebanon, NH; her siblings, Carl Peterson III and his wife Ellen of Wethersfield, David Peterson of Middletown, Suzanne Liseo and her husband Michael of Lakeland, FL, and Robyn Ponce and her husband Raul of West Haven; three grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, and Ethan Brown; her stepmother, Carol Peterson of Newington; and many other extended family members and friends.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 4-7 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home (807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Windsor Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
