Farmington Obituary: Dianne Smith, 45

Dianne H. “Dee” Smith (Keiffer) of Sebastian, FL, entered into eternal peace on November 21, 2015.

Born on September 18, 1970, in Somerville, NJ, she moved to Connecticut as a young child and completed her secondary education at Farmington High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut, received her nursing degree from Post University in Waterbury, and worked as a nurse, a job that she loved.

Dianne leaves behind her son, Shepard Smith, her daughter, Kate Smith, and their father, Scott Smith, of Sebastian, FL; her mother, Josephine Walters, and her stepfather, Fred Walters, of Vero Beach, FL; her father, Joseph Keiffer, and her stepmother, Jane Keiffer, of Simsbury; her sister, Kathy Barrett, and her husband, Keith Barrett, of Plainville; her sister, Susan Keiffer, of Sebastian, FL; her sister, Carolyn Culligan, of South Windsor; her sister, Amanda Keiffer, of Simsbury; her niece, Nicole Corey and her husband, Josh Corey, of Burlington; her nephews, Zach and Jake Barrett of Plainville, Sam Keiffer of Sebastian, FL, and Kiefer and Kevin Culligan of South Windsor; her stepsisters Sharon Kamonka, of Vero Beach , FL and Judy Walters, of Easton, PA; her stepbrother Fred Walters, of Crum Lynne, PA and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family wishes to express a very special thank you to the caregivers at the VNA Hospice House who cared for Dianne during her final days. Forevermore, whenever Dianne’s family or friends see a butterfly, they’ll be reminded that she’s happy and thinking of them.

Memorial services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
