
Jane J. (Semnoski) Tanski, 84, of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 17, 2016.
She was born in New Britain and was a gifted and talented pianist beginning at the age of 6. Jane attended the Hartt College of Music and graduated in 1953 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. She was a church organist at various churches throughout her career including: St. Andrew Church, St. Francis of Assisi, Our Lady of Mercy and finally St. Patrick Church in Farmington from where she retired in 2000. Jane was the music director at Mary Immaculate Academy and also taught music at Slater Road School and continued to teach piano lessons until she was 65.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister, she leaves her children: Paul Tanski and his partner, Eleanor Staib, James Tanski and his wife, AnneMarie, Rosemary Szot and her husband, Anthony, Carolyn Boulay and her husband, Chris; her six grandchildren: Cordell, Skyler, Elona, Ben, Renata and Elias; and her sister, Lorraine Semnoski. She was predeceased by her former husband, Eugene Tanski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Jerome, 1010 Slater Rd., New Britain. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, is in care of arrangements.
