Farmington Obituary: Jay Sonneborn, Jr., 48

Condolences to his family and friends.

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jay A. Sonneborn, Jr. on Wednesday February 28. He was 48 years old.

While he faced many struggles in life, the last three years have been really good to him. He was very happy with his partner, Suzanne, and her family. They gave him unconditional love and support. He was taking care of his health, reaching out to his family, and thinking about teaching in a technical school.

Jay loved his kids Kassy and Chris and was so proud of them. Jay also loved his step children Barbie, Tito, and Omar as well as their beautiful families. He did his best to try and support them through struggles when he was a young man struggling himself.

He was incredibly kind, loving, super smart and had a heart of pure gold. It was so important to him to celebrate special moments by making a delicious lasagna from scratch and inviting us all to share that meal together. We will forever miss his awesome hugs and words of support and smile and laugh. And we know many of you feel the same way. Please tell those you love that you love them- as often as you can.

Thank you for the kindness, patience and support so many people have shared with Jay over the years. You all touched his life in beautiful and caring ways. That meant everything to him.
