
Jean Ann Garofalo, 89, of Farmington, formerly of Wethersfield and Edgartown, MA, received her wings November 7, 2017. Jean was predeceased by her parents Florence M. (Holland) and John Garrity of Hartford, her sister Barbara Garrity of Hartford, her grandson Christopher Cantatore of Wethersfield, and her husband John Garofalo of Farmington.
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Lynn M. Weiler and her husband Peter Weiler of Jupiter, FL, and Tracey A. Garofalo of Wethersfield, and her son John "Jack" T. Holland and partner Lauri S. Sirabella of Deerfield Beach, FL and Old Saybrook. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter, Toni Torres and partner Jonathan Pasquaretta of Wethersfield, and two great grandsons, Noah and River.
Jean was born June 8, 1928 and raised in the Southend of Hartford. Nicknamed “Red” for her vibrant red hair and along with her captivating blue eyes, she was a true Irish beauty. Jean attended Buckley High School where she excelled and passionately took part in the glee club. She later went on to study at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford.

Jean’s life was filled with her unwavering devotion to her faith, love of books and music (often playing her organ), travel, nurturing her family, and enjoying the company of lifelong friends. Words cannot begin to tell how deeply those who cherished her and those whose lives she touched will miss her. We love you Mimi.
Funeral will be held today, 10AM, November 9, 2017 at Christ the King Parish (Corpus Christi Church), 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. There will be a private service at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
