
John Francis "Jack" Kilduff, Jr., 92, beloved husband of Josephine (Zima) Kilduff, passed away on June 22, 2016 in the arms of his loving and devoted wife Josie.
John was born in Unionville on January 14, 1924.He was the son of Lillian Hurlburt Kilduff and John Francis Kilduff. As a young boy, John went to work in his father’s tire business Jack Kilduff, Tire Expert in West Hartford before joining the U.S. Navy where he served on the Battleship USS North Carolina, serving in WWII.
John and Josie were the key components in the opening of Kilduff’s Chevron, Unionville. John’s other love besides Josie was fishing the Farmington River (special fishing holes) and the CT Shore. He also enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Harwinton Rod and Gun Club.

John had a keen eye when it came to shooting pool. He finished, repaired, and built many beautiful furniture pieces. It was later in life after being coaxed into a round of golf when he fell in love with the game and looked for every opportunity to play. John and Josie also shared a fondness for the Red Sox especially certain player, Big Poppy, and enjoyed spending many winters in Florida. John presented an incredible strength and perseverance through his whole life. He worked very hard and it seemed there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. John and Josie were married sixty-nine years, together they raised five children, all with an entrepreneurial spirit.
He is survived by his loving son John F. Kilduff III (Kilduff’s Chevron, JFK and Associates) and his significant other Joany Ordorizzi of Cape Coral FL., his loving son Kenneth M. Kilduff (Kilduff’s Chevron, New Home construction) and his wife Carolyn of Unionville, his loving son Gregory J. Kilduff ( Automotive, New Home Construction) and his wife Theresa of Canton, his loving and devoted daughter Cheryl Byrne (Home cleaning, Vision Real Estate, CK Byrne Construction, County Wide Mechanical Services) and her husband Kenneth of Burlington, and his loving son Brian M. Kilduff (BMK Carpentry, New Home Construction) and his wife Beth of New Hartford. He leaves his beloved eleven Grandchildren and twelve Great Grandchildren. John is survived by his sister Patricia Kilduff Benson. John was predeceased by a newborn daughter (1960) and his great grandson Alexander Fornier (2013). He was also predeceased by his sisters Edna Dube, Lillian Prout, Dorothy Cyr, Muriel Plouff, Mabel Rowe, and brother Earl Kilduff.

Friends may call to the Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street Route 4 Unionville, CT on Friday (July 1) at 4-7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday (July 2) 10:00 AM in the Church of Saint Mary Star of the Sea (all are invited to go directly to the church). Burial with full military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery Avon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Burlington Volunteer Ambulance Core, P.O. Box 1285, Burlington, CT 06013.
