Farmington Obituary: Juan Guadalupe, Jr., 60

Juan Guadalupe, Jr., 60, of Farmington, passed away peacefully on August 23rd, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the Bronx, NY, on July 4th, 1958, to Amalia Lopez and Juan Guadalupe (deceased); Juan Jr. lived his younger years in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, as a young adult he relocated to New York until he later moved to Hartford and then to Farmington, where he resided for 16 years.

He was a devoted father and can be remembered by his intense cheering from each sporting event he attended as he encouraged and proudly supported his son Ivan. Juan Jr. (Guada) was an extremely hard working individual and spent time working at various entities throughout the Farmington Valley.

During his 16 years in Farmington he worked as a school bus driver and was able to touch the lives of many children with his warm smile and laughter as he greeted them at the beginning and end of each school day.

Juan was a loving father to his daughter Janidsia Guadalupe, mother of his two grandsons Jariel J. Rivera and Jerian A. Lopez and his son Ivan A. Guadalupe, whom he loved very much. He is survived by his mother Amalia Lopez Gomez, as well as his 10 beloved siblings, Myrma Rivera, Wilma Rivera Morales, Norma, Enid, Ana, Nellie, Hector, Richard, Maria, and Eva. He was a beloved Uncle, Tio Junior, had many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

Family and friends are welcome to attend calling hours at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Friday, August 31st, 2018 from 4:00 to 9:00pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Saturday September 1st, 2018 at 9:15 am, followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Patrick, 110 Main St., Farmington at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Farmington.
