After a long illness, Marion C. Dillon passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 27, 2015 at age 94.
Born in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, she married the love of her life, William J. Dillon Jr., when he returned from serving in World War II, and having loved him since she was 17. Her husband predeceased her in September, 5 weeks short of their 70th wedding anniversary. They started their life together in Milford, MA then moved to Natick, MA where they brought up and were devoted to 3 children, who survive her: Susan (Peter) Evans of Avon, William J. Dillon III (Charlene) of Exeter, RI and Kevin B. Dillon of Lakeside, CA. Also surviving her are her 5 beloved grandchildren, Brittany, Craig, Alison, Kevin and Kelsey and 4 great grandchildren.
When her children went to school, Marion started working outside the home in retail (inventory control before the days of computer) and later as an office worker in a bank, always wanting to be at home when her children were home. Until she became ill, she was an avid walker, loved bicycling, knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, and most especially entertaining her family, who she always put first in her life. She traveled the world with her husband in his job, but loved home best. Bill and Marion retired to Cape Cod, but moved to Farmington to be closer to family, when they were in their eighties.
