Farmington Obituary: Michael Sabatasso, 58

Michael J. “Mike” Sabatasso, 58, of Stafford Springs and loving husband of Lauri (Wilson) Sabatasso passed away peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2016, at Johnson Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

Michael was born June 27, 1957, in West Haven, the son of the late Pasquale and Rose (Fiorillo) Sabatasso. Michael was raised in West Haven and attended local schools and has been a resident of Stafford Springs since 1997. He was employed at The Forest of Farmington as the superintendent for 15 years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and enjoyed watching the races on Friday Nights at Stafford Motor Speedway. Michael also enjoyed saltwater fishing. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants and enjoyed nothing more than taking a ride on his Harley through the countryside.

In addition to his wife, Lauri to whom he was married 18 years he is also survived by four children, Carissa Sabatasso and her partner Chance Wager of Manchester, NY, Andrew Lewis of Stafford Springs, Jessica Sabatasso and Danielle Lewis and her partner, Teressa Thomas of Stafford Springs; two siblings, Pasquale Sabatasso, Jr., and his wife, Lyn of Madison and Rose Massa and her husband, Joseph of West Haven; three grandchildren, Allie Sullivan, Kaelynn Sabatasso and Ross Michael Sabatasso Wager and many nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his sister, Joann Sega.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, from 9 am to 11 am at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., (Route 190) Somers. A funeral service in celebration of Michael’s life will begin at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Hampden, MA.
