Farmington Obituary: Paul Kleef, 53

Condolences to his family and friends.

Paul S. Kleef, 53, of Farmington and formerly of East Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at John Dempsey-UConn Health Center, Farmington from a heart disease. Paul was the loving husband of 26 years of Doris (Donato) Kleef.

Born in The Hague, Netherlands on September 15, 1963 he was a resident of East Hartford for over 31 years prior to moving to the Farmington/Unionville area 16 years ago. Paul was a graduate of George J. Penney High School in East Hartford, Class of 1982 where he starred in football and earned All-State honors his senior year as a fullback.

Paul was employed by A. Duie Pyle Trucking Co., Southington and previously worked many years for Coca Cola in East Hartford. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Boston Red Sox, but most of all he was a devoted husband, father, and family man who loved grilling and cherished his time with family members and friends.

Along with his beloved wife Doris, Paul is survived by a daughter, Gina M. Kleef and her significant other, Kenneth Levesque, of Tariffville; twin sons, Paul A. Kleef and Kyle R. Kleef both of Farmington; one adored grandson, Payton Levesque of Tariffville; his mother, Dorothea “Thea” (Bonk) Rodegher and her husband, Oreste “Russ”, of East Hartford; and his father, Ronald Kleef of Tolland. He also leaves a brother, Rene P. Kleef and his wife, Annette, of East Hartford; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Lillian (Erickson) Donato of Port Orange, FL; a sister-in-law, Venita Frasca and her significant other, Billy Shoaf, of Tolland; two nieces, Hunter Kleef and Dylan Kleef both of East Hartford; two nephews, Colton Kleef of East Hartford, Joseph Frasca of Tolland; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.

Private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Paul’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday (July 28th) from 3-7 pm at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
