Farmington Obituary: Richard Mathews, 81

Richard C. Mathews, 81, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Farmington, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2017.

Born in Bridgeport, he was a graduate of Windsor High School, Class of 1953. Richard worked as a reporter and photographer for the Hartford Times. Following his career at the newspaper, he worked for many years as a residential and commercial real estate agent for the DeWolfe Agency.

Richard helped to serve many area families as a member of the Companions & Homemakers team in Farmington. He also greatly enjoyed his involvement with the Farmington Senior Center.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Prentiss; his brother, David W. Mathews, and his wife, Diane; and his adored nieces, Lisa and Kristy. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth G. Mathews.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of Richard's family.
