
Sophie P. Roman, 89, of Unionville, beloved widow of John A. Roman, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 13th.
Born August 9th, 1927 in Avon, daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Pernal) Parylak. Prior to retiring, Sophie was an Inspector for the Pioneer Steel Ball Company. She was a longtime communicant at the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea in Unionville.
Sophie is survived by her children, Patricia R. Bernier and her husband Philip of Terryville, John M. Roman of Rockville, Ronald Roman of Bristol and Diane Mattson of California, her sister, Antoinette Shine of Madison, her five grandchildren, Heather, Laura, Wendy, William and Kelsey and two great-grandchildren, Haley and Aubrey. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Frank Mostowski and Walter Parylak and her three sisters, Helen Staruch, Julia Erho and Pearl Glanovsky.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Saturday (Dec. 17) from 8:30-9:30am. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be at 9:30am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon.
