Stanley William Kerr Sr., beloved husband of Margaret (Machuga) Kerr passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on December 15, 2017.
Born on December 24, 1927 to Harry Stanley Kerr and Helena (O’Donnell) Kerr of Unionville, he was a lifelong resident of Unionville. Stan started his career at Hurley Manufacturing of New Hartford in 1946 and worked as a foreman in spring manufacturing until his retirement in 2006. After retirement, he spent much of his time with his wife of 69 years traveling with their “gang” of friends to Ireland, Canada, Hawaii and many other states.
For nearly 50 years, Saturday nights were spent with the “gang” attending church, enjoying dinner out and ending with a hand of 31. Family time was very important to Slim. He and Marg enjoyed preparing family Sunday dinners at their home. His specialty was baking bread and adding his own secret ingredient for the grandkids to guess.
