Farmington Obituary: William DiGioia, 94

William E. DiGioia, 94, of Farmington, beloved husband of Jane (Grant) DiGioia, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 8, 2016.

William was born in New York, NY, son of the late Mario and Marguerite (Gentile) DiGioia and lived in Farmington the last four years. Prior to his retirement he worked as a medical salesman. He served proudly in World War II as a member of the United States Coast Guard. William enjoyed being around water and boats his entire life.

In addition to his wife, Jane, William leaves his daughter Geri E. Paradis and her husband Dr. Marc Paradis of Simsbury, his son Donald W. DiGioa and his wife Colleen of Brookfield, his three grandchildren; Derek, Leigh and Matthew and his sister, Jean Stafford of Ellicott City, MD.

The family would like to thank the staff at UConn John Dempsey Hospital, most especially the physicians, nurses and support staff on the second floor intermediate care unit and on the Oncology unit for the wonderful, respectful care provided to William.

Friends may call at the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Main St., Unionville on Monday, December 12th from 10:30 am until 11:00 am followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11 am. Burial will be in the family plot at St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.
