Farmington PD: It's The Summer Of Road Construction In Town
The FPD is warning motorists in Farmington to exercise some patience this summer as several major road projects are planned.

FARMINGTON, CT — Local police Wednesday warned motorists to prepare for a summer of construction on Farmington roadways.
And they're urging drivers to be a little patient.
"The Farmington Police Department is anticipating significant roadwork occurring throughout the summer months which will impact drivers and residents," wrote the FPD in a statement. "We ask that drivers plan for delays in the areas listed."

Roads pegged for construction this summer are:
West Avon Road
• A full closure between houses #75 and #99 on West Avon Road.
• Jersey barriers will be in place and the road will be impassable during the closure.
• Closure begins 6 a.m. July 10 and continues until 6 a.m. July 27.
• Traffic will be detoured along Farmington Avenue (Route 4) and onto Brickyard Road.

Farmington Avenue (Route 4) from Monteith to Town Farm — Overnight work
• Milling will occur during the overnight hours of July 9 to July 13 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• The road will remain milled until paved.
• Paving is scheduled for the overnight hours of Aug. 3-9 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Traffic will be alternating during roadwork.
Unionville Bridge (South Main Street/ Route 177) — Overnight work
• Starting July 10, overnight work will occur Monday to Thursday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Work will continue until completed (likely 2 - 4 weeks).
• Traffic will be alternating during roadwork.
South Road Bridge (Between Orchard Road and Maple Ridge Drive)
• Starting around July 17, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Work will continue until completed (up to 2 months).
• Traffic will be alternating during roadwork.
South Road and Two Mile Road
• Work continues on the roundabout, Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• A detour will be in place between July 10-14, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Detour will occur on South Road between Two Mile Road and Robin Road.
• Traffic will follow Two Mile Road to Batterson Park Road and onto Berkshire
Drive/ Robin Road.
"While Farmington PD strives to provide the community with accurate notifications, roadwork scheduling is often subject to last-minute changes due to factors largely outside of the department’s control," wrote the FPD.
"We ask that drivers and residents remain patient with the process, drive safely, and have a wonderful summer."
