Farmington Police Aim for Continued Prestigious CALEA Accreditation

Assessors will be coming to Farmington to observe police. Community members are invited to offer their input.

The Farmington Police Department is asking members of the community to offer input as the department aims to continue its accreditation.

The department will be assessed by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. Its a voluntary accreditation that FPD has held since 1992, said Lt. Colin Ryan, police spokesman.

The accreditation process is performed by an assessment team of out-of-state public safety practitioners. It involves visits to offices and other places where the team can observe for compliance.
