Farmington Police Announce DUI Checkpoint

The checkpoint is being done in an effort to curb drunk driving.

Farmington Police will be conducting a DUI checkpoint starting Friday April 17.

The checkpoint will be setup on Route 4 near Westerberg Drive starting at 7 p.m. and will last until 3 a.m.

“The Farmington Police Department is committed to keeping the roads in Farmington safe. Impaired driving puts everyone on the road in danger,” said Lt. Patrick Buckley. “The checkpoint will be clearly marked and vehicles will be selected to move through the check lanes on a pre-determined basis to ensure objectivity and timeliness.”

Funding for the checkpoint is provided by the state of Connecticut Department of Transportation.
