Farmington Police Arrest Woman Accused of $246k Check Fraud Scheme
The woman allegedly wrote checks from the company she worked for to herself.
Farmington Police have arrested a woman who is accused of defrauding her company of nearly $300,000 through a check-writing scheme.
Police arrested Kathleen Williams, 64, of Plainville on Dec. 30 after a lengthy investigation, according to police.

Williams allegedly wrote 188 fraudulent checks to herself from SARJAC Partners, whom she worked for, police said. The alleged activity happened between October 2011 and September 2014.
The fraudulent checks total about $246,000. She is also accused of putting in more than $35,000 in unauthorized overtime.

Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree larceny and second-degree forgery and was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
