Louis Vuitton Handbag Scheme Results in Woman's Arrest

The scheme allegedly involved paying for bags with counterfeit bills, then returning them for cash at another store, Farmington police said.

Farmington Police arrested a Brooklyn woman who is suspected of being a member of a group in the northeast that is paying for high end handbags with counterfeit bills.

Rosemael Danelyne Paul, 19 was arrested at Hartford Superior Court on an outstanding warrant on Friday. She was previously arrested in Pennsylvania on similar charges.

According to police, in early November she paid for a handbag at the Westfarms Mall Louis Vuitton Store with 19 counterfeit $100 bills.

Paul has been linked to a group in the northeast that allegedly purchases the handbags with counterfeit bills then return the bag at other stores for real cash.

Paul was charged with 19 counts of first-degree forgery and fourth-degree larceny. She was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
