Farmington Police Chief Joins Special Olympics CT Board of Directors
Chief Paul Melanson is also a member of the law enforcement torch run for the Special Olympics.

Farmington Police Chief Paul Melanson has joined the Special Olympics Connecticut Board of Directors.
Melanson is also a member of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut Council. He has also supported special events in town including the Dream Ride in Farmington.

Melanson has served as Chief of Police in Farmington since February 2009. Prior, he was a member of the West Hartford Police Department. He has received the “Courage of Connecticut” Award for bravery and was named “Police Officer of the Year” by the West Hartford Exchange Club. He is currently President of the Capitol Region Chiefs of Police Association, a Connecticut Law Enforcement Memorial Board Member and a member of the Tunxis Community College Criminal Justice Advisory Board. He is also the Commander of the North Central Chiefs of Police SWAT and Hostage Negotiations Teams.
Melanson is a graduate of University of Connecticut and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
