FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington police are advising vehicle owners, particularly pickup trucks, to be cautious following a spree of overnight break-ins.

In the early morning hours Thursday, pickup trucks were specifically targeted, with entry being made by smashing windows. The interiors of the trucks were then rummaged through, according to police.

Police wrote on social media, "Residents are reminded to avoid leaving keys, valuables, or any kind of weapon inside their vehicle, even if the doors are locked. Residents are also encouraged to contact the police if they see any suspicious activity."
