Farmington Police Officer Struck by Dump Truck
The officer was directing traffic in a construction zone when struck by the truck, according to police.

FARMINGTON, CT — A Farmington police officer was hospitalized late Monday morning after being struck by a dump truck while directing traffic in a construction zone on Route 4.
Around 11:30 a.m., the officer was directing traffic near High Street when the incident occurred. The officer sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital by ambulance for evaluation, Lt. Patrick Buckley said.
The dump truck is currently being inspected by Department of Motor Vehicle officials, and the driver has been cited for striking an officer while directing traffic, Buckley said.
