Farmington Public Schools Collaborative Pep Band
Students from West Woods Upper Elementary and Farmington High School collaborate to bring school spirit through music to FHS football games.

Members of the West Woods Upper elementary band program joined the FHS bands in the annual Band Buddy Night on Friday, October 7th. The sixth grade band students rehearsed with the high school band members before the football game learning pep band songs together. Students enjoyed pizza together provided by the Farmington Friends of Music and later all musicians performed at the game.
This is the fifth annual Band Buddy Night where students from elementary band look to the future and perform with high school musicians. The fun evening creates a event invoking school spirit and mentorship through music. High school musicians look forward to meeting their new buddies and mentoring them in the musical aspects of pep band tunes. The sixth grade students and their families experience the collaboration and comradery of musical performance at football games.
Band directors from across the district collaborate to coordinate this annual event. FHS music director, Thomas Johnston works with WWUES band directors, Dawn Matthews and Jenn Austin to ensure success in this program.
