Farmington Public Works Posts Labor Day Weekend Announcements

The Farmington Highway and Grounds Division of Public Works and Development has several announcements regarding the upcoming holiday weekend.

For Farmington residents who have trash and recycling collections by the town’s contractor, there WILL BE normal trash and recycling collections on Monday, Sept. 7.

The Compost Area WILL BE OPEN on Saturday, Sept. 5. Regular open times are Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon, weather permitting. The gate closes promptly at noon. Please call 860-675-2550 during inclement weather. Residents may bring leaves and brush directly to the Tunxis Mead Compost Area, which is located at the end of Tunxis Mead Road.
