While HCAI has informally given more than $2M since it opened its doors in 2017, The Dr. Gary Blick Scholarship was launched earlier this year with the mission of providing access to postsecondary education to members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals.
“As the founder of HCAI, I have been committed to serving the needs of the LGBTQ+ community for over 35 years,” said Dr. Gary Blick, founder and chief medical officer, HCAI. “Through this scholarship, we hope to continue the hard work of fighting for a world free from stigma, discrimination and HIV/AIDS and I believe that with this inaugural group of young people, the future looks bright.”
