Farmington Resident Honored At Connecticut Executive Choice Awards
The National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, has named Robert J. Fiondella, CLU, CPA, to receive a 2014 Connecticut Executive Choice Award.

The National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, has named Robert J. Fiondella, CLU, CPA, to receive a 2014 Connecticut Executive Choice Award. Fiondella will be honored at a ceremony to be held Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.
Fiondella is a principal at Wealth Preservation Partners, LLC, in Simsbury, with extensive experience in solving the unique problems faced by successful high net worth individuals, business owners and corporations. Wealth Preservation Partners, LLC provides specialized services in coordinated retirement and investment planning, insurance and asset protection strategies, estate and charitable planning, business succession planning employee and executive planning.
Fiondella graduated from Fairfield University in 1989 with a degree in accounting. He is a registered representative/registered principal of M Holdings Securities as well as a licensed life and health insurance agent. Fiondella earned his insurance license in 1990 and in January of 1994 he incorporated Fiondella Insurance and Retirement Planning, Inc.
His current business, Wealth Preservation Partners, has been located in Simsbury since 2009. Fiondella currently resides in Farmington with his wife, Michele, and three children, Robert Jr., 19, Lindsay, 16, and Andrew, 12.

Originally from Bristol, Fiondella followed his father’s footsteps as a public servant from the early age of 13 when he began volunteering as a youth coach for Edgewood Little League in Bristol. He continued his involvement until the age of 30 when his own children were born.
In 1998, Fiondella was named as one of the Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. Since then, he has served on numerous charity boards, including Time For Life, the Hartford Shelter for Women and the Foundation for Mental Health.
Fiondella currently serves as chairman of the board for Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford, after six years of involvement.
He also volunteers with the Farmington Recreation Department, coaching soccer and basketball.
This September, Fiondella is hosting the 10th annual Fiondella Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Bristol Boys and Girls Club, the Salvation Army and Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford. In the past, he has also chaired numerous charity golf tournaments, including the Easter Seals Capitol Region tournament, which he has chaired for four years, the Farmington Eagle Open, to benefit the Farmington elementary schools, and the Pedro Vega Memorial Golf Tournament.
Fiondella recently received approval for Amy’s Angel’s, a 501(c)3 he created in honor of his cousin, Amy, who died of breast cancer this winter. Amy’s Angels is a grass roots organization that provides comprehensive short and long-term assistance to individuals and their families dealing with the debilitating effects of serious illness or injury.
The Connecticut Executive Choice Awards honors business leaders in Hartford and New Haven counties. The awards honor Connecticut professionals who have made significant contributions to the business, civic and cultural betterment of our community.
Fellow honorees include Denise Merrill, Secretary of the State; Thomas M. Lescalleet, Senior Vice President of Griffin Land, LLC; and Michael Devino, President of Mercury Fuel Service, Inc.
The awards take place Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville. After a cocktail reception, the program will include dinner, entertainment and the award presentations.
