Farmington resident Suzy Whaley is shaking up the male-dominated status quo at the PGA after becoming the organization’s first female officer.

Whaley first shook things up 10 years ago when she became the first woman to qualify for a PGA event in 58 years, according to NBC Connecticut.

Now she will serve as the organization’s secretary for two years, then two years as vice president and finally a two-year term as president and then another two years as honorary president.
