Farmington Store Nabbed for Selling Tobacco Product to Underage Buyer
Only one of 23 Farmington locations were in violation of Connecticut statutes during compliance inspection visits Wednesday.

FARMINGTON, CT - All but one of 23 Farmington locations passed an unannounced tobacco compliance check Wednesday, Lt. Colin Ryan said in a written statement.
The Farmington Police Department conducted unannounced compliance inspections at 23 establishments that sell tobacco products in town. The inspections were performed in an effort to determine compliance with state laws concerning the prohibition of sale of tobacco products to youth under the age of 18. The inspection was completed with the assistance of the State of Connecticut Department of Health and Addiction Services (DHMAS), Ryan said.
Under the direction and supervision of Farmington police investigators and with parental permission, a 16 year old female entered the establishments and attempted to purchase tobacco products, Rayn said.
