Farmington Town Council Chair: Republican Capidoferro Wins

The GOP kept control of Farmington's top elected official seat in a close race.

FARMINGTON, CT —In a tight race to lead the Farmington Town Council, Republican Republican Joe Capidoferro will head the town's top elected body.

According to numbers released on the Connecticut Secretary of the State's website Wednesday morning, Capidoferro garnered 2,700 votes to Democrat Rafeena Bacchus Lee, who finished with 2,586.

Capidoferro had 50.61 percent of the vote compared to Lee, who had 48.47 percent.

Petitioning hopeful William D. Rebillard also earned 49 votes in his bid to lead the council, slightly less than 1 percent of the votes.

The Farmington Town Council chairman post was vacated by retiring GOP incumbent C.J. Thomas.
