Farmington Ukraine Relief Group Aided By West Hartford Fundraiser
The event will take place at Blue Back Square in West Hartford for Farmington-based nonprofit 'Moya Ukraine.'
WEST HARTFORD/FARMINGTON, CT — It's been nearly a year and a half since Russian troops marched into the sovereign nation of Ukraine and tried to take it over.
But since that fateful day in February 2022, a task thought to only take a few days still isn't complete and Ukraine has courageously battled for its existence, amassing a staggering body count for Russian troops.
But the fight is far from over and ally Ukraine and its war-ravaged public still need much aid, with a benefit funraiser at Blue Back Square in West Hartford Thursday expected to help.

The event — whose motto is "Be the change that you wish to see in the world" — is Thursday, July 20, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the popular shopping destination on 65 Memorial Road.
There, the Farmington-based Ukraine relief organization "Moya Ukraine," which translates into "My Ukraine" will be on hand for an evening of speakers, music, children's face-painting and lots of food — all with a Ukrainian theme.

According to its website, "Moya Ukraine" was actually founded in 2014, when Russian illegally annexed the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine, something the nation is now trying to get back in the war.
Ukrainian singer Olga Olichka will be a special guest and the event will also feature various raffles to raise money for Ukraine.
This particular fundraiser is being hosted by Natalia Gryn of "Moya Ukraine" and Tatiana Kharina, Mrs. Connecticut America, and the owner of a spa in Farmington.
Funds collected will benefit children and families of Ukraine who have been targeted by Russian President Vladamir Putin's evil intentions as he continues to target civilians in the war, killing many women, children and the elderly in the process.
The organization is in the middle of a $100,000 fundraising drive to help the eastern European nation.
