Farmington Valley American Muslim Center to Host Open House

Farmington Valley American Muslim Center invites the public to an Open House on Saturday, February 11.

From the Farmington Valley American Muslim Center: The Board of Directors and members of the Farmington Valley American Muslim Center invite members of the public and the press to an Open House on Saturday, February 11 from 1 to 3pm. FVAMC is located at 35 Harris Road in Avon. RSVP’s to 860-502- 9308 or info@fvamc.com are requested.

Visitors to this free, family-friendly event will enjoy an informational session about the Islamic Faith, opportunities to meet and ask questions of their Muslim neighbors, delicious treats traditional in the Middle East, and a tour of the Center. Ms. Reem Nouh, a member of the Center’s Community Advisory Group, says, “We believe that, in this time of divided national and global politics, our local community can unite through education and understanding. We are so pleased to create this opportunity for Muslims and non-Muslims to come together. Let’s get to know each other as individuals.”

The Farmington Valley American Muslim Center is a place of worship, community service and gathering, and interfaith understanding and dialogue. Its mission is to foster generations of Muslims who are proud of their American identity and Islamic heritage through service to God and community.

Other upcoming events at the Center include a celebration of World Hijab Day on February 1, an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday February 20 from 1-6pm and Mobile Foodshare Distribution on alternating Tuesdays, next on February 21.
