Farmington's Beloved 'Strawberry Festival' Is This Week
The free evening celebration also kickstarts the town's 2026 Summer Concert Series and is a precursor to a summer of fun locally.
FARMINGTON, CT — One of Farmington's longest-running community traditions will return June 11 as New Horizons Village hosts the 69th Annual Strawberry Festival in Unionville.
The free event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at New Horizons Village, 37 Bliss Memorial Road. Pony rides and other family activities are expected to begin around 6 p.m.
The annual festival will feature live music, food vendors, community activities and attractions for all ages.

"Locomotion" will provide musical entertainment during the event, which serves as the opening performance of Farmington's 2026 Summer Concert Series.
In addition to live music, attendees can enjoy food and refreshments, browse vendor booths, and participate in family-friendly activities throughout the evening.

The Strawberry Festival has become a staple of Farmington's summer calendar and is hosted each year by New Horizons Village.
The event is free and open to the public.
New Horizons Village is an independent, barrier-free apartment complex in the Unionville section of Farmington, Connecticut. It provides affordable, ADA-compliant housing and supportive services to about 101 adults with physical disabilities.
The festival also marks the start of Farmington's Summer Concert Series, which continues through Aug. 20 with performances at Staples House Green and other locations around town.
Upcoming concerts include Tribulations performing 1970s hits at the Tunxis Hose Carnival on July 9, Country Wild Heart on July 16, Replay (Wednesday Bowling League) on July 23, Piano Man Meets Rocket Man on Aug. 6, Stanley Street Big Band on Aug. 13 and Almost Eras: The Taylor Swift Experience on Aug. 20.
Several other community events are also scheduled throughout the summer, including the Farmington Valley Juneteenth Celebration on June 20 at Simsbury Meadows, the Avon-Farmington 250th Celebration on June 26 at Thompson Road Recreation Area, and a special circus performance at Westwoods Golf Course on July 28.
Most Summer Concert Series performances are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at Staples House Green.
Organizers said Dial-A-Ride transportation will be available for community events, and food and beverages will be available for purchase at concert venues.
