Farmington's First 'Winterfest' To Celebrate The Season

The event will take place in the center of town on Saturday, Dec. 2.

FARMINGTON, CT — It's definitely a festive time of year everywhere and Farmington is no different.

This Saturday, Dec. 2, the town will host its first-ever Farmington Winterfest event downtown near the main Farmington Public Library, 6 Monteith Drive.

The inaugural celebration is being hosted/sponsored by Kapura General Contractors Inc., Forbes Asphalt, and Farmington Motor Sports Inc.

It all starts at 4 p.m. at the overflow parking area next to the library.

From 4 to 5:30 p.m., the festivities will include children's crafts with a winter theme; story time with Santa Claus; and hot chocolate and "sweet treats."

Then, from 6 to 6:45 p.m., visitors can enjoy the Torchlight Truck Parade, which starts at Farmington High School nearby.

This part of the event will feature all sorts of local trucks decorated in yuletide cheer.

In the event of inclement weather, Winterfest will be pushed back a week to Saturday, Dec. 9.
