Firefighters Battle Farmington Inferno, Roadway Reopens: FFD: UPDATE

The blaze was first reported late Tuesday morning, resulting in a garage being fully engulfed in flames, according to firefighters.

FARMINGTON, CT — Traffic on Town Farm Road in Farmington was impacted by a structure fire at a garage there on Tuesday.

According to the Farmington Fire Department, at about 11:47 a.m. Tuesday, local police and FFD staff were called to a structure fire at 151 Town Farm Road.

"Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered the garage of the building fully engulfed in flames," wrote the FFD in a release early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters said early reports indicated fire originated in the basement and quickly spread to the garage.

Firefighters are working swiftly to control and extinguish the blaze, the FFD said.

Fortunately, the fire department reported, all occupants of the building had safely evacuated prior to the emergency crews' arrival and no injuries were reported.

There were some local traffic impacts in that area of the fire, with the roadway there closed for much of the day.

At 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, the Farmington Police Department said Town Farm Road had reopened.

The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined.
