Food Collection to Restock Pantry in Farmington

A community food collection has started at La Belle Chateau Salon & Spa in Unionville. Every year this business hosts a drive in November for the holiday season but when a customer who volunteers at the Farmington Food Pantry told them the shelves were very empty, owner Joan Femc and her staff rallied!

Despite the generosity of residents of Unionville and Farmington, most food pantries are often depleted after the summer months when vacations take donors out of town and schools, scouts, civic groups aren’t as active. Without the support of many individuals, businesses, churches in the community, the all-volunteer pantry staff would be unable to meet the monthly food supply needs of the households currently qualified to the use the pantry.

The following items have been requested but all donations are welcome:

• Boxed Pasta with Sauce Jar to accompany
• Canned Vegetables
• Baked Beans
• Fruit Cups Snack Size
• All types of Children’s School Snacks
• Toothpaste

Located at 55 Mill Street next to Cure Restaurant and Amped Fitness, the Salon is open six days a week Monday – Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m.
