Full-day Kindergarten Report Being Presented at Board of Education Meeting

Do you think that public schools in Farmington should have a full-day kindergarten experience?

Assistant Superintendent Kim Wynne will update the Board of Education on the topic of full-day kindergarten at tonight’s meeting.

Many school districts across the state have implemented full-day education. A catalyst for this is the new Common Core standards, according to notes in the Board of Education meeting packet.

Farmington has a half-day for kindergarteners and an option to extend the day through the EXCL program, which involves a fee.

The Board kept the half-day program intact after reviewing data in 2012 and has since asked administrators to review the data regularly.
