Hartford Man Charged After Police Chase At Farmington Hotel: FPD
The 26-year-old was caught, police said, trying to steal tires from cars in the parking lot, leading to a wild pursuit.

FARMINGTON, CT — A 26-year-old Hartford man is in custody Tuesday morning after police said he was caught trying to steal tires from cars at a local hotel and then fled into the woods.
The Farmington Police Department said Bryant Serrano, 26, of Hartford, was charged with third-degree larceny; interfering with a police officer/resisting arrest; reckless driving; failure to renew registration; illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance; improper use of marker/registration plates; illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension; engaging police in pursuit; and evading responsibility.
Police said Serrano is being held on $75,000 bond and was slated to be arraigned in court later in the day Nov. 5.

According to the FPD, at about 1:43 a.m. Tuesday, Farmington officers encountered the suspect attempting to steal vehicle tires in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn, 301 Colt Highway.
Serrano disregarded police orders to stop and he attempted to flee in a Toyota Avalon, police said.

During the attempt to escape, the Toyota crashed into an FPD cruiser and became disabled, with Serrano leaving the vehicle and fleeing into the nearby woods, police said.
With UConn Health Center, New Britain, Plainville, and Farmington police maintaining a perimeter, Serrano was, eventually, apprehended.
Police said the North Central Drone Team and Farmington's police K-9 unit (featuring "Ozzy") aided in the apprehension, which came "without further issue."
