How Has Farmington's Household Income Changed Since 2007 Recession?

The report notes that there are some surprising stats throughout the state.

The Connecticut Mirror has taken an in-depth look at income brackets in Connecticut over time from 2007 through 2013 and what they’ve found is that there are more higher income households now, and more lower income households, which means that the middle class is shrinking.

In Farmington, the number of households earning $200,000 or more in 2013 is at 13 percent, and that rate was 10.9 percent in 2007. The number of households earning $100,00 to $150,000 in 2013 is now at 18.2 percent and it was 20.5 percent in 2007 in Farmington.

Overall for Connecticut, the number of households earning more than $200,000 in Connecticut grew by 1.7 percent from 2007 to 2013 and now stands at 9 percent.

The number of households earning more than $100,000 in Connecticut grew by 3.8 percent from 2007 to 2013 and is now at 33.1 percent.

But the number of households in Connecticut earning $25,000 or less has actually increased slightly from 2007 to 2013 and now stands at 18.6 percent.

In Farmington however, the number of households earning less than $25,000 is now approximately 13 percent, which is a slight decrease from 2007 when that figure was near 14 percent.
