“If you are not at the table, you are on the menu” – Jay Ghassem-Zadeh
What is really remarkable about the 2017 Town Council Election for the town of Farmington is how engaged young politicians are and how profoundly they are shaping the political landscape. Jay Ghassem-Zadeh belongs to a younger generation of tech-literate, progressive political leaders who are working to change the current American political structure one election at a time. A highly motivated and a very involved member of the community, Jay recognizes how vibrant, diverse and engaged the community of Farmington is. He promises to preserve all that is great about the town of Farmington and more.
Jay prides himself as being someone who listens to people and stresses the need for inclusion of everyone in the decision making process. He promises to “Show Up” every time and hopes the residents will too. Transparency, accountability and inclusion are some of the planks of his platform in this year’s race for the Town Council Chair for the town of Farmington.
A great proponent of zero based budgeting or metrics based budgeting, he hopes to eliminate waste and keep the taxes low. He believes prioritizing smart investment in the town’s services, schools and infrastructure will put Farmington on the path to success.

The founder and President of JRG Consulting, LLC, Jay has served as a program manager at Capitol Region Council of Governments (CROCG) as also on various councils and commissions for policy awareness on local, state and federal issues. He has also served as a budget analyst to municipalities along the East coast. Jay holds a masters of Public Administration (MPA) and Certification in Public Financial Management from UCONN.
This year, the town of Farmington has an opportunity to elect a candidate who shows a visible respect and enthusiasm for the office of Town Council Chair. Jay Ghassem-Zadeh is a deserving candidate who loves and enjoys public service. A highly compassionate and very humble Jay truly cares about Farmington and its future.
