FARMINGTON, CT — The location on the calendar of the Fourth of July holiday has created some unusual situations for many municipalities, Farmington being no different.

According to the town, Farmington Town Hall and all municipal offices and the library are closed on Tuesday, July 4.

But they are open on Monday, July 3, for regular hours and they will resume regular hours of operation on Wednesday, July 5, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Local officials, however, said the July 4 holiday will not impact trash collection during the week.

For residents who have trash and recycling collection by the town's contractor (Waste Material Trucking Co.), there will be no change in the collection day during the week of Independence Day.
